THE TERRITORY

Massa Marittima is a beautiful medieval town, rich for history, culture, arts and museums. It is just 2 km far from the Tenuta. Massa Marittima is famous for its Cathedral and it is the venue for historical and wine and food events like the Balestro of the Girifalco and Calici di Stelle.



18 km far from the Tenuta, the Gulf of Follonica holds some of the most beautiful beaches of the Tuscan coast, great for any kind of tourist demanding and suggested for families with children because of clean waters and low and sweet seabed.




Scarlino dominates on the Gulf with a spectacular view from its medieval town, the tourist port of Puntone and the Castle.




Cala Violina has been included by Legambiente in the 11 most beautiful Italian beaches. It is known for its crystal clear seabed made of Posidonia Oceanica which lives in dense meadows.
Cala Violina takes its name from a peculiar characteristic of its sand: in springtime, when it is still preserved from tourism, it gives the sound of a violin playing. It is reachable both on foot and by boat because it is just a few km far from the Puntone Port.





Saturnia, in the comune of Manciano, in the Argentario Coast, is famous for its natural thermal baths.





The beautiful islands of Giglio, Elba and the whole Tuscan archipelago are rich of vegetation and stunning beaches and they are easily reachable from the ports of Piombino, Castiglione della Pescaia and Porto Santo Stefano.





The stronghold of Montemassi, situated a few km from Roccastrada, is a hill area of a wild beauty, it is a tourist venue for its typical Maremma landscapes and for the remains of an impressive fortress.





The suggestive and mysterious Pitigliano is called “the Italian Jerusalem” both for the historical presence of a Jewish community and for the medieval environment which reminds the Israeli city. Its territory keeps an incredible archaeological and architectural heritage belonging to the Etruscan, Medieval and Renaissance period.





Sovana, unharmed Medieval town of Etruscan origin, which atmosphere seems to be detached by time, is the centre of an important archaeological complex which can be visited.





Talamone is a small medieval town, characterized by its little port and by its cliff where you can admire stunning landscapes and views of the Tuscan Archipelago and of the lagoon of Orbetello.




Capalbio is a fortified town with towers and medieval walls, beyond which you see seaside views, countryside and Mediterranean scrub.





The Vie Cave testifies the Etruscan settlements in the area between Pitigliano, Sovana and Sorano. This a very important archaeological area with mysterious charm for the multiple hypothesis about their origins and functions.
